Lake Park at Mueller, Austin, TX
This 32-acre park is the centerpiece of the new Mueller neighborhood, providing a place for civic and family gatherings, outdoor performances, children’s play and passive recreation. The design features a six-acre lake that provides water quality and detention for the surrounding neighborhood while serving as a central amenity for the planned Town Center. Designed by McCann Adams Studio, in collaboration with ROMA Design Group and RVi landscape architects, the design features a state-of-the-art children’s playground, a rehabilitated historic hangar for community events, a central amphitheater and Mueller’s marketing and visitor center. In addition, MAS designed the shade structures, arched bridge and the restroom/storage facility of the park. Plantings are predominantly native materials reflecting Lake Park’s Blackland Prairie location.
