Seaholm District Master Plan, Austin, TX
MAS principals were commissioned by the City of Austin to prepare the Master Plan for the area surrounding the historic Seaholm Power Plant, located on the downtown shore of Lady Bird Lake. The plan illustrates a clear framework for public improvements and private development, including the rehabilitation of the power plant as a major public destination; the design of new streets, new trails and a public events green; the extension of the Pfluger Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge; the future extension of urban rail transit; a new intermodal transportation terminal; and the development of a mixture of residential and commercial uses that will establish the area as a vibrant new district within the downtown. The master plan is now being implemented as part of a public-private joint development project.
