McCann Adams Studio seeks a Landscape Architect to work at its office in Austin, TX.
Job Description:
Perform professional duties in furtherance of planning, development, and design of comprehensive plans and programs for land area and urban development for commercial and/or residential sites. Confer with clients, engineering personnel, and architects on landscape projects. Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimate for land development. Analyze data on conditions relating to site location and/or structure location for landscaping plans. Perform redevelopment planning. Develop space design. Perform GIS mapping and analysis. Meet with developers to address issues regarding land use or community plans. Design plans affecting land use, including arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structure. Prepare graphic representation of computer-aided design and drafting software. Analyze land use in compliance with zoning requirements. Assess project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory conformance. Conduct field investigations and impact studies to compile and analyze data on factors affecting land use. Determine the effects of regulatory limitations on land use projects. Stay informed about economic or legal issues involved in zoning codes, building codes, and/or environmental regulations. Assess the feasibility of land use proposals and identify necessary changes. Prepare graphic and narrative reports. Assist with evaluation of proposals for infrastructure projects or other development for environmental impact or sustainability. Produce analysis diagrams and illustrative drawings for large-scale land architecture and planning projects. Build 3D models. Update design booklets layout and prepare base maps for site analysis.
Qualifications:
Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Landscape Architecture and two (2) years of experience in job offered or alternate occupation of Landscape Architect, Urban Designer, Design Consultant.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's degree in an accepted degree field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or alternate accepted occupation.
Required skills:
Experience must include two (2) years of experience in: Assist in all design phases of commercial mixed-use, residential amenity center, hotel, retail, and roof garden development, including new construction and renovation; Develop documents for all design phases, schematic design through construction documents including documenting landscape plans, elevations, and details in imperial or metric standards for jurisdictional agency corrections using 2D/3D modeling using Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and related BIM, 2D and 3D modeling software; and Produce design documentation and presentations with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, and free-hand sketching.
