Michelle Slattery is a Senior Associate and Urban Designer at McCann Adams Studio. For almost a decade, Michelle has been involved in all aspects of the firm’s work, including master planning, public space and park design and multi-modal street design. Projec¬ts include the Downtown Austin Plan and the Mueller and Highland Mall Redevelopments. Michelle reinforces MAS’ interdisciplinary approach to projects, and is particularly passionate about preservation of cultural landscapes.
Education: Michelle received a Master of Landscape Architecture in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies in 2005, both from the University of Texas at Austin. This prepared her to join ROMA Austin (now McCann Adams Studio) in the Summer of 2008, where she is taking on new challenges daily.
Associations & Memberships: Michelle is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and is a member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, the Austin History Center Association, the Library of American Landscape History, the Brentwood Neighborhood Association, and a founding member of the Shoal Creek Conservancy and its emerging Professional Leaders Committee. As a speaker for the Texas A&M Governor’s School, Michelle gave high school students a better understanding of Urban Design. She recently volunteered for The Cultural Landscape Foundation’s What’s Out There Weekend tours in Austin.
Michelle joined Preservation Austin in 2009. She became an Inherit Austin Board Member in 2012 and currently serves as Chair of Inherit Austin and on the Board of Directors for Preservation Austin. She has volunteered for several Homes Tours, serving as Docent, Volunteer Coordinator, and House Captain. Michelle has organized many tours and events with Inherit Austin, including the Dillo Tour and Somewhere In Time.
